Description

Lot 65 black or brown colt by Savabeel – Purcentage (Onemorenomore) (draft: The Chase)

David Ellis has an incredible buying record of progeny by Savabeel (Zabeel), the eight-time Champion Sire in New Zealand, with over 30 individual Group One winners. Dual Horse of the Year Probabeel heads the list, a winner of four Group Ones in Australia. He provided a rare double when Te Akau trained Noverre (Savabeel) to win the 2000 Guineas (Gr. 1,1600m) and The Perfect Pink (Savabeel) won the 1000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) in 2021, while Savabeel success stories for the stable include other Group One winners Amarelinha, Hall of Fame, Savy Yong Blonk, Sword of Osman, Shillelagh, Cool Aza Beel, Embellish, Prise De Fer, I Wish I Win, and Skew Wiff, as well as group winners: Splurge, Gold Fever, Aotea Lad, Synchronize, Brando, and Fashion Shoot, while his sire sons include Embellish, Cool Aza Beel, and Noverre.

The colt is a half-brother to outstanding $1.2m earner Revolutionary Miss (Russian Revolution), a dual Group Two winner to 1600 metres and dual Group One placed including the Thousand Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m), a winner at two, three, and four. Percentage has also left stakes winner Equation (Press Statement), winner of the Canberra Guineas (Gr. 3, 1400m). Grand-dam Spurcent, by Golden Slipper winner Flying Spur (Danehill), was fast enough to win the Gimcrack Stakes (Listed, 1000m) as a two-year-old while also finishing third in the Thousand Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) and left eight individual winners of 33 races.

“He is very similar in type to what has attracted us in the good Savabeel colts we’ve bought over the years,” Ellis said. “He’s got beautiful balance, moves effortlessly, and has a really good pedigree, which continues to keep improving, going back to the great Waikato Stud stallion Centaine as sire of his third dam.”
