Lot 115 bay colt I Am Invincible – Zimaretto (Anabaa) draft: Yarraman Park Stud

NOTE: this colt is one of two colts comprising our Te Akau 2025 Magic Colt Partnership - a share must also be purchased in Lot 395, not in the colts individually.

The colt is by Australian Champion Sire for the past three years I Am Invincible (Invincible Spirit), who currently sits second in the General Sires’ List, is the leading Australian stallion in the TRC Global Sire Rankings, and stands for a service fee of $275,000 at Yarraman Park Stud.

I Am Invincible is also the sire of Imperatriz, whom Te Akau principal David Ellis purchased in 2020 at the Gold Coast. The winner of 10 Group One races, the most for her sire, Imperatriz is the reigning New Zealand Horse of the Year and Champion Sprinter in Australia. Retired and sold in June last year for $6.6 million, she became the highest priced filly or mare ever sold in the Southern Hemisphere.

I Am Invincible yearlings have sold for $2.7 million, $2m, $1.9m, $1.7m, $1.45m, and averaged nearly $400,000 last year.

Dam Zimaretto is by Champion racehorse Anabaa (Danzig), winner of the sire making July Cup (Gr. 1, 1200m, who sired winners of $46 million in prize money, including French Champion Three-Year-Old Goldikova, winner of 14 Group One races.

Zimaretto has already proven herself at stud, leaving eight individual winners of 23 races, including three group and listed winners. 

"He’s a beautifully put together colt, with great balance, poise, and very alert and eager to please," Ellis said. 

"All the foals out of the mare have won, which is quite incredible, with plenty of them winning as two-year-olds. 

"He certainly has the pedigree and looks the type to race as a two-year-old and stretch out further at three. He really is a ripping colt."

The colt has a lovely balanced cross of Danzig, the sire of Danehill, in his pedigree, on the sire lines of both I Am Invincible and Zimaretto.
