SEIZE THE DAY

Exciting I Am Invincible colt Seize The Day was superb when claiming valuable Group 1 honours at only his third start.

Being patiently handled, having trialled five times before racing, he debuted in February 2026, finishing third only beaten a nose and a nose.  

It would not be long however until his true talent was revealed when the colt won in early March 2026 at his second appearance.  Ridden by Opie Bosson ONZM, Seize The Day was a comfortable 2.7 length winner on his home track of Matamata.

His time to shine was presented later in March 2026 when, at his third start, he lined up in the $550,000 Group 1 Courtesy Ford Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes over 1400m. The second of only two Group 1 races for juveniles each season in New Zealand, the first being the Group 1 Sistema Stakes which was claimed by stablemate Lara Antipova on 7 March on Champions' Day at Ellerslie.

Sent out hot favourite for the Trentham feature, Seize The Day drew the widest gate but the deft skillset of Opie Bosson ONZM saw the colt bolt home by an impressive and growing margin of four lengths.  

In doing so, he became Te Akau's 10th winner of this race, and the stable's 104th group 1 winner - the 105th coming later that same day with Belle Cheval victorious in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes 2000m in Sydney.

Seize The Day was purchased by David Ellis CNZM at the Magic Millions' Gold Coast Sale and is raced by the Te Akau Magic Colts' Breeding Syndicate (Mgr: Karyn Fenton-Ellis MNZM). He has raced three times for two wins and one placing, earning $334,225 in prize money.
