PERLINO

Perlino struck gold when winning the $80,000 Listed NZB Warstep Stakes for 3YO fillies over 2000m. The daughter of Super Seth had to overcome some difficulty in the running too - after being slow away in the hands of Bruno Queiroz then over-raced a little in the middle stages but the experienced South American horseman kept her steady and focussed.  

After then also being held up on the turn, it showed real courage and determination by the filly to go on to score comfortably by one length.

The start prior, Perlino had rallied strongly over 1600m in the $80,000 Listed NZB Insurance Stakes also for 3YO fillies when ridden by Opie Bosson ONZM to finish in third place - showing the subsequent step up to 2000m would be to her liking, and so it proved.

Purchased by David Ellis CNZM at the Karaka Sales Book 1, she is raced by the Te Akau Etched in Gold Racing Partnership (Mgr: Karyn Fenton-Ellis MNZM).  She has raced seven times, with three wins and two placings, earning $95,895 in prize money to date.
