Home Affairs' colt Kinnaird became his sire's first ever stakes' winner when storming home to win the $225,000 Group 2 SkyCity Auckland Eclipse Stakes 2YO SW 1200m on New Year's Day 2026 at Ellerslie.

Interesting, this race is also the very first stakes' race in the world in 2026, another sense of pride!

After showing early potential when placing at his two trials, his debut confirmed the fact that there was definite talent - winning narrowly but determinedly at his first start on 30 November at Otaki, a race where he really showed toughness to win for Craig Grylls.

His road to the Karaka Millions' 2YO was sealed on New Years Day when he put away a talented juvenile field by a length in the Eclipse, in the hands of Opie Bosson ONZM.  

Purchased by David Ellis CNZM at the Karaka Sale Book 1, Kinnaird is raced by the Te Akau Home & Abroad Racing Partnership (Manager: Karyn Fenton-Ellis MNZM) - he has raced four times for two wins and one placing, winning $166,375 in prize money to date.
