Lot 991 bay filly Time Test – Pin Up Lae (Pins) (draft: Little Avondale Stud)
By young sire Time Test (Dubawi), standing at highly respected farm, with three stakes winners already in Europe, the filly is from mare by outstanding all-round sire Pins (Snippets).
Twice, Pins was NZ leading sire for global progeny earnings and now doing tremendous job as broodmare sire.
Pin Up Lae has left two individual winners, while grand-dam, good staying mare and producer, Laebeel was Listed winner and Group 1 & 2 placed.
“She’s a stunning filly by an exciting young sire, out of a Pins mare, out of a Zabeel mare,” said Mark Walker.
“She’s a beautiful mover and very athletic filly, with plenty of scope. She’s the type to race as an autumn two-year-old and train on to be a lovely three-year-old, like the family suggests.
“There is some very good Australian form throughout the family and prepared by one of the best studs in New Zealand. She represents terrific value.”
The sire of Time Test, Dubawi, can be considered a rare specimen, as too any stallions stemming from Dubai Millennium (Seeking the Gold).
A devastating six-length winner of 2000 Dubai World Cup (Gr. 1, 2000m) in track record time (1:59.5), Dubai Millennium was named best racehorse in the world with his Timeform rating (134) ranking him ahead of Sinndar (132) and Montjeu (130). He ended his career with Timeform rating of 140.
Unfortunately for the racing world, Dubai Millennium died after serving only one crop (56 foals) and although several were given their chance at stud, it was only Dubawi, a multiple Group 1 winner, unbeaten at two, winning five of eight career starts that led the way. Standing for £250,000, Dubawi became the fastest to sire 50 group winners and has produced more than 500 stakes winners, over 80 Group 1.
Dubawi is a sire of sires, including Makfi who sired dual NZ Horse of the Year Bonneval and NZ Filly of the Year Sofia Rosa.
