Karaka Yearling Sales 2022 – Lot 77 Satono Aladdin – All About the Coin, Bay Colt

Lot 77 bay colt Satono Aladdin – All About The Coin (Starcraft) (draft: Rich Hill Stud)

Son of sire sensation Deep Impact, Satono Aladdin won the highest rated mile in Japan: Tokyo Yasuda Kinen (Gr. 1, 1600m) running an incredible 1:31.5.

Debutante two-year-old Kabugee (ex. Kabuki, by Shinko King), trained by Te Akau, had no trouble providing first domestic win for Satano Aladdin in January at Te Aroha, and shapes as a very progressive racehorse.

All About The Coin is by New Zealand bred stallion Starcraft (Soviet Star): world-class galloper and five-time Group 1 winner that claimed titles of Champion 3YO in Australia, Champion Sprinter in New Zealand, and Champion Miler in Europe.

A flashy looking colt, with terrific natural athleticism, he really takes the eye.

“He’s a really nice type that caught our attention in the way he walks,” said David Ellis. “We could see him being a two-year-old type.

“Starcraft is doing an excellent job as a broodmare sire, in turn out of a mare by Champion Sire Redoute’s Choice and a line that goes back to the mighty Zabeel, and his family.

“We’ve been impressed with the progeny of Satono Aladdin, particularly Kabugee who is in the stable.

“He’s a really nice colt and we thought he was good buying.”
