By six-time Champion Sire Savabeel (Zabeel), Cox Plate (Gr. 1, 2040m) winning three-year-old that proved sire sensation throughout Australasia. Savabeel is sire of current Horse of the Year Probabeel, purchased as a yearling by David Ellis at Karaka, winner of four Group 1 races in Australia.

Ellis and Te Akau experienced enormous success with progeny of Savabeel, aiding his standing in no small way, through deeds of NZB Filly of the Year Amarelinha, Hall of Fame, Savy Yong Blonk, Brando, Sword of Osman, Shillelagh, Cool Aza Beel, Noverre, Embellish, Prise De Fer, Splurge, Gold Fever, Aotea Lad, Royal Success, and Grazia etc.

From in international dam line, Leytana was winner at 1400 metres in France, second dam Lunduv is by European Champion Sire Pivotal, while major sire influence Groom Dancer produced third dam Another Dancer.

“He is the first foal for a young imported mare and we’ve had such good success buying first foals,” said David Ellis.

“It’s a great international family and the sort of horse that could get up and going a bit sooner, with scope to develop into a 2000 Guineas (Gr. 1, 1600m) colt.

“He’s very good value; the cost of production or even a little bit less.”

The colt carries bloodline crosses to Nureyev, a racehorse with immense turn of foot and Champion French 3YO before siring more than 20 champions, and immortal sire Northern Dancer.
