KARAKA 2023 – Lot 507 Zoustar – Shenandoah Bay Colt

$400,000

Description

Lot 507 bay colt Zoustar – Shenandoah (Darci Brahma) (draft: Wentwood Grange)

Zoustar won six of his nine starts, including two Group Ones and a Group Two, and became one of the most sought after stallions in Australia, following the premature demise of his sire Northern Meteor (Encosta De Lago) who had been Champion First Season Sire.

In his own right, Zoustar has been Champion First, Second, & Third Season Sire, Leading Sire of 3YOS, and Champion Sire in Singapore.

With only six crops of racing age, Zoustar has been a prolific sire of over 1000 winners, over 60 stakes winners, including six individual Group One winners.

Dam Shenandoah, dual winner of two races and Group Two placed in Australia, is by Champion Sire Darci Brahma (Danehill), purchased as a yearling by David Ellis at Karaka, and winner of five Group One races before becoming a terrific stallion.

“He’s really typical of the sire (Zoustar), and an outstanding colt in every respect,” said David Ellis.

“He handled the preparation and paraded very well. He’s precocious, short-coupled, and looks to have plenty of speed about him.”

The colt has a Danehill cross through the dam-line of Zoustar and sire line of Shenandoah.
