Te Akau Tuesday Trackwork

Te Akau track work Wednesday June 19

Work has been restrictive on all tracks because of heavy rainfall

Course proper right-handed (Heavy):

Being readied for the Benchmark 65 2200 metres on Monday June 24 at Rotorua, Prospero (Miller) worked in from the 1600-metre mark. He picked up tempo to run the last 600m in 42.6 and ran home his final 200m in smart fashion. He impressed the young rider with his performance. A winner fresh-up over 1670 metres on Slow9 footing at Paeroa, he showed plenty of valour on heavier footing than he prefers when third last time out at Matamata. Already a winner on the course at Rotorua, on Slow9, it is hoped that rain may abate to provide improvement on the current Heavy11 rating.

Coming to hand in terrific order, Dreamer (2 f More than Ready - Make Me Strong) (Walters) coped with conditions when working on the Two-Year-Old grass track. Assistant trainer Pam Gerard said Dreamer ‘loved the loose footing, is very forward in condition and looks very strong'. Second in three of her four starts to date, she is professional and her efforts in training bode well for an upcoming campaign.
