Te Akau Trentham Sunday Preview

Te Akau Racing has four horses entered on Sunday 25 October at Trentham.

2:40 p.m. R4 6 Sibling Rivalry (4 m Satono Aladdin – Justlikeyasister) – Wiremu Pinn; she found the line after being back and wide when resuming in Rating 75 1200 metres on 3 October at Matamata, and drops in grade for the $40,000 Rating 65 1000 metres. She has been a dual winner to 1200 metres and has ability, but requires a good dollop of luck from her outside gate (11) - note the rider change due to Hayley bring unwell. Fixed odds: $4.00 & $1.70.

3:15 p.m. R5 6 Legally Binding (5 g Exceedance – Legal Eagle) – Wiremu Pinn; he found the line strongly for a close fourth when resuming in Rating 74 970 metres on 30 September at Cambridge (poly-track), has been patiently handled and given time (25 days), and contests the $50,000 Open Handicap 1000 metres. He’s recorded four wins to 1200 metres and finished fourth at his only previous course attempt. He carries the minimum weight (54kg), and rates a top three chance. Fixed odds: $5.00 & $1.70.

4:26 p.m. R7 4 What You Wish For (6 g Embellish – Grand Wish) – Wiremu Pinn; he finished strongly for second after being shuffled back in the Listed Kaimai Stakes (1600m) on 3 October at Matamata, and contests the $100,000 Group 3 Gee & Hickton Thompson Handicap (1600m). He has had two very unlucky seconds this time in, has the quality to have been Group placed, and races well on this course. He meets a good field today but has again copped a nasty gate (17) - nonetheless he possesses the ability to prove competitive. Fixed odds: $7.00 & $2.70.

4:59 p.m. R8 14 Bolli Belle (4 m Shamus Award – Fille Champagne) – Michael McNab; she ran a very good sectional (33.6 – 600m) from last to finish seventh in the $40,000 Rating 75 1400 metres on 25 September at Te Rapa, and contests the corresponding event. She won her first two starts last season to 1400 metres, carries the minimum weight (54kg), and is more than capable of a top four finish. Fixed odds: $3.80 & $1.70.
