Te Akau Trans Tasman Thursday Preview

Te Akau Racing has one horse entered on Thursday 25 June at Riccarton (poly-track), Christchurch, New Zealand and one horse entered at Bendigo, Victoria.

Riccarton:

Weather: fine, track: poly-track, rail: true.

12:22 p.m. R2 4 Vivacious (5 m Dundeel – Vivi Veloce) – Triston Moodley (a1); she was hemmed up after travelling three back on the inner before finishing strongly for a close fourth in the Rating 75 1200 metres here (poly-track) on 27 May. She has been patiently handled and given time (29 days) before contesting the $22,000 Open Handicap 1200 metres. She's a dual course/distance winner who was in winning form this time last year, and she rates top three in a small but select field. Fixed odds: $3.00 & $1.30.

Bendigo:

Weather: fine, track: Soft7, rail: out 3 metres. No rain forecast.

5:30 p.m. (NZ) - 3:30 p.m. (Vic) R6 4 In Haste (3 f Snitzel – Prompt) – Liana Wood (a4); she finished well for second after racing between leaders in the A$35,000 Benchmark 62 1000 metres on 11 June at Seymour, also with Wood aboard, and contests the corresponding event. She's recorded two wins and has been twice second from four starts, including second in Group 3 Gold Trail Stakes (1200m), when trained from Te Akau stables in Matamata. She enjoys weight relief to 59kg, has been winner on soft and heavy, and rates a top four chance from barrier five. NZ TAB fixed odds: $6.00 & $2.30.
