Te Akau Trans Tasman Midweek Preview
26 August, 2026
Te Akau Racing has one horse entered on Wednesday 26 August at Riccarton (poly-track), New Zealand and one horse entered at Bendigo, Victoria.
Riccarton:
Weather: fine, track: poly-track, rail: true.
2:07 p.m. R3 6 Zambrosia (4 m Zoustar – Positive Problems) – Triston Moodley (a); she travelled in the open near the pace, was positioned second at the 600m, and maintained a solid effort to finish fourth in a trial on 11 August at Timaru. Resuming in the $18,500 Maiden 1600 metres, she put in two solid efforts for third over 1600 metres in her first campaign, found the line in 1000-metre trial here on the poly-track in July, and rates a top three chance from barrier three. Fixed odds: $2.20 & $1.20.
Bendigo:
Weather: fine, track: Soft7, rail: out 4 metres. 4mls rain forecast Tuesday and no rain Wednesday.
5:55 p.m. (NZ) - 3:55 p.m. (Vic) R6 11 Golden Pulse (3 g Tivaci – Gold Fever) – Michael Dee; he won a jump out by a big margin after leading on 17 August at Cranbourne, also with former Te Akau apprentice Michael Dee aboard, and resumes in the A$35,000 Class 1 1100 metres. A debut winning two-year-old on a Good4 surface, he is the half-brother to Te Akau purchased and trained Champion Two-Year-Old La Dorada (Super Seth). He seemed to handle yielding ground when winning that recent jump out, and ideally drawn in barrier two in make an impact. Fixed odds: $7.00 & $2.30.
