Te Akau Racing has four horses entered on Wednesday 24 May at Tauranga.

Weather: overcast, track: Heavy10, rail: out 6 metres. No rain forecast.

 

1:05 p.m. R2 9 Fay Khan It (4 m Mongolian Khan - Morgan Le Fay) - Michael Roustoby (a3); she closed nicely for third on Heavy10 in the Maiden 1600 metres on 14 May at Matamata, and contests the $14,000 Maiden High-weight 1600 metres. She has weight relief to 64kg, is handily drawn (4), and brings rthe ight form to rate a top three chance. 

3:29 p.m. R6 4 She's A Showoff (4 m Showcasing - Que Sera) - Ryan Elliot; she went well in her first two resuming runs before pulling up lame after the Rating 65 1215 metres on 13 May at Rotorua. Contesting the $14,000 Rating 65 1200 metres, she is a course/distance winner on Heavy10 going and this provides her with the opportunity to bounce back as a top three chance. 

3:29 p.m. R6 8 Classico (4 m Pierro - Onetangi) - Warren Kennedy; she ran home under her own steam for third in a trial on 24 April at Waipa, and coped with the heavy footing when finishing strongly to win the Maiden 1215 metres on 13 May at Rotorua. Up in grade for the $14,000 Rating 65 1200 metres, she is likely to get back from her wide draw (14) and will be looking to emulate her previous effort. 

3:29 p.m. R6 12 Puzzle Solved (3 f Rubick - Sandownboulevard) - Joe Kamaruddin (a); she was unable to round off from the rearward group in the Rating 65 1200 metres on 6 May at Te Rapa, and likewise contests the $14,000 Rating 65 1200 metres. She raced away on Slow7 footing to win over 1200 metres in February at Te Rapa, however is required to handle deeper ground and needs to appreciate the course at her first attempt.
