Te Akau Singapore Sunday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has eight horses entered on Sunday 7 August at Kranji.

Te Akau trainer Donna Logan is currently second on the premiership table.

Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over on 1 January from Mark Walker, who returned home to train the Te Akau team at Matamata.  Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021 with 66 wins, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

4:00 p.m. R1 10 Foresto (8 g Excelebration - Swiss Current) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 8 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1600 metres on poly-track and carries 47kg. He needs to improve to make an impact.

4:30 p.m. R2 4 Luxury Brand (3 g Charm Spirit - Miss Gucci) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 1 of 8 in $75,000 Restricted Maiden 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 49.5kg. Second to his stable-mate on debut, he seems to handle poly-track, has drawn the ace (1) and rates a top three chance.

5:30 p.m. R4 6 Rocky (4 g El Roca - Anthology) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 8 of 11 in $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 57.5kg. Finished fifth in same race as his stable-mate above, and the addition of blinkers should help - he rates a top three chance.

6:00 p.m. R5 1 Aftermath (5 g Spirit of Boom - Elusive Gift) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 1 of 9 in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries 56kg. He drops back to Class 5, and looks not be competitive at this level, has drawn the ace (1), and he looks a top three prospect - one of two in the event for the stable.

6:00 p.m. R5 8 God's Gift (6 g Haradasun - Criquette) - Jake Bayliss; drew barrier 6 of 9 in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries 55kg.  He posted a nice third last start over 1600 metres, has been freshened, but probably needs further.

7:00 p.m. R7 2 Eastiger (8 g Magic Albert - Quite Astute) - Vlad Duric; drew barrier 2 of 10 in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on turf and carries 58kg. He possesses good course/distance stats and his recent form is solid enough to have first three claims.

7:30 p.m. R8 6 Elliot Ness (5 g Written Tycoon - Walk With Attitude) - Hakim Kamaruddin (a1); drew barrier 2 of 9 in $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 52kg. He has been flying with the blinkers on, is ideally drawn (2), is capable of winning and certainly rates a serious top three contender.

8:00 p.m. R9 6 Olympia (5 g Gingerbread Man - Second Omen) - Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 7 of 12 in $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 54.5kg. Placed twice at the distance and is capable of a first fo9ur finish.
