Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has seven horses entered on Saturday 18 March at Kranji.

Te Akau trainer Donna Logan ended her first season finishing second in the premiership.

Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

5:00 p.m. R1 4 Rocky (4 g El Roca - Anthology) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 2 of 10 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 57kg. His track work excellent, he gets on well with this jockey, drops in grade, and rates a top three chance.

6:00 p.m. R3 5 Trident (4 g Deep Field - Miss Fi) - Vlad Duric; he drew barrier 5 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 57kg. His track work has been good, he has a top rider aboard, and he looks a top three prospect.

6:00 p.m. R3 8 Deception (4 g I Am Invincible - Friday Hussy) - Harry Kasim; he drew barrier 11 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on turf and carries 53kg. His track work has been good, he is maintaining form, and was held up last start, so look for a strong finish.

6:30 p.m. R4 6 Wednesday (5 g Super One - Shufetish) - Saleh Shafrizal (a1); he drew barrier 8 of 9 in the $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 49kg. His track work has been solid, his last run was better than it looked, the blinkers are off, and expect a strong finish with any luck from the wide draw (8).

7:00 p.m. R5 4 Our Final Offer (5 g Deep Field - Egyptian Melody) - Jamil Sarwi (a4); he drew barrier 3 of 11 in the $20,000 Maiden 1200 metres on turf and carries 53.5kg. He posted a creditable third fresh-up, and strips fitter now, however he faces a tougher assignment here - look to see him running home strongly if he begins well.

8:30 p.m. R8 3 Winning Stride (4 g Wrote - Tossed and Turned) - CC Wong; he drew barrier 7 of 8 in the $75,000 Novice 1400 metres on turf and carries 58kg. It was a good effort last start and he should race well again but is another that requires a ton of luck from his awkward draw (7) in small field.

9:00 p.m. R9 1 Our Secret Weapon (5 g Outreach - Poppy's Pond) - Fadzli Yusoff (a2); he drew barrier 8 of 9 in the $30,000 Class 5 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 57kg. His consecutive wins have been smart, and while he goes up in the weights, he's holding good form and he rates a top four chance.
