Te Akau Singapore has 13 horses entered on Saturday 29 January at Kranji

Resident trainer Donna Logan has taken over reins for Te Akau in Singapore, and Mark Walker returns home to New Zealand, replacing Jamie Richards who is Hong Kong bound.

Since Te Akau established its stable in Singapore in 2010, Walker was Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019 and 2021 with 66 wins – he was also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

6:00 p.m. R3 3 Brutus  (5 g Rubick – Harvest Queen) – Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 11 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 57.5kg. He has unfortunately drawn wide (11), but he is in very good form and he rates a top three chance – one of three in the race for the team.

6:00 p.m. R3 7 Mystery Power (4 g No Nay Never – Gems) – Fadzli Yusoff (a3); drew barrier 8 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 50.5kg. He comes in fresh-up, carrying a light weight and he receives the opportunity to improve.

6:00 p.m. R3 9 Good Fight (4 g Super One – Bella Elegante) – CC Wong; drew barrier 10 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on turf and carries 52kg.  On the turf, where he won his maiden, he has first four claims.

7:30 p.m. R6 5 Aftermath (4 g Spirit of Boom – Elusive Gift) – Shafiq Rusof; drew barrier 8 of 12 in $50,000 Class 4 1100 metres on poly-track and carries 54kg. He has blinkers on, plans to go forward, a rates a place chance in a line-up with two for4 the stable.

He found all sorts of trouble last start, so put a line through that as he rates a top three prospect with any luck from the wide draw (10).

8:00 p.m. R7 9 Wednesday  (4 g Super One – Shufetish) – CC Wong; drew barrier 8 of 11 in $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on poly-track and carries 53.5kg. He was very unlucky when third last start, and he is capable of finishing in the first three.
