Te Akau Singapore Saturday Preview

Te Akau Singapore has 10 horses entered Saturday 27 May at Kranji.

Te Akau Singapore trainer Donna Logan ended her first season finishing second in the premiership, and currently sixth.  Training since 2018 in Singapore, Logan took over from Mark Walker on 1 January 2022.

Walker was Singapore Champion Trainer in 2015, 2017 (record 87 wins), 2019, and 2021, also runner-up three times, third, and fourth.

4:00 p.m. R1 1 Our Secret Weapon (5 g Outreach - Poppy's Pond) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 3 of 10 in the $30,000 Class 5 1000 metres on the poly-track and carries 57kg. He is the winner of two of his last five appearances, possesses good distance stats, and rates a top three chance.

6:00 p.m. R5 9 Diamond Ring (6 g Super Easy - Donna Marie) - Simon Kok (a1); he drew barrier 9 of 14 in the $30,000 Class 5 1200 metres on the turf and carries just 51.5kg. While he does have a better record on the poly-track, this is the opportunity to try him on the turf.

6:30 p.m. R6 4 Te Akau Ben (5 g Tavistock - Danalaga) - Craig Grylls; he drew barrier 1 of 8 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 55kg. He unfortunately drew wide (14) last time and nothing went his way, and he will find this easier with the advantage of barrier one.

6:30 p.m. R6 5 Ahorsewithnoname (4 m Adelaide - Me No Marsh Potato) - Louis Beuzelin; she drew barrier 3 of 8 in the $50,000 Class 4 1400 metres on the turf and carries 54.5kg. It's her second start for stable, and on her work leading in, she has first four claims.

7:30 p.m. R8 6 Rocky (4 g El Roca - Anthology) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 6 of 9 in the $50,000 Class 4 1600 metres on the poly-track and carries 50.5kg. He is looking to show improvement as he steps up in distance.

8:30 p.m. R10 7 Entertainer (6 g Zoustar - Laughing) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 2 of 11 in the $70,000 Class 3 1200m on the turf and carries 54kg. He may be better suited by a drop back to Class 4.

9:00 p.m. R11 1 January (3 g Swiss Ace - Musically) - Simon Kok (a); he drew barrier 3 of 11 in the $150,000 Singapore Guineas (Gr. 2, 1600m) on the turf and carries 57kg. One of three Te Akau runners to contest the feature, he is suited to the mile and is racing well. He looks a true top three chance and his prospects would strengthen with any rain.

9:00 p.m. R11 3 Luxury Brand (3 g Charm Spirit - Miss Gucci) - Fadzli Yusoff (a); he drew barrier 1 of 11 in the $150,000 Singapore Guineas (Gr. 2, 1600m) on the turf and carries 57kg. He has been racing very well and positions as a top three chance from the ace draw.

9:00 p.m. R11 9 Maximum Control (3 g Written Tycoon - Alcatraz) - Louis Beuzelin; he drew barrier 10 of 11 in the $150,000 Singapore Guineas (Gr. 2, 1600m) on the turf and carries 57kg. He won his Maiden impressively last start, and although being thrown in the deep end at only his second appearance, he is  capable of a bold effort but require luck from wide draw (10).

9:35 p.m. R12 9 Elliot Ness (5 g Written Tycoon - Walk With Attitude) - Yusoff Fadzli (a2); he drew barrier 6 of 12 in the $50,000 Class 4 1200 metres on the poly-track and carries 49.5kg. He has been racing solidly around this mark, and had some excuses last start, so to see him bounce back would not surprise.
