Te Akau Singapore Hits $2m Stakes

In a remarkable performance in only just over five months of the Singapore season, Te Akau Singapore has hit the magical $2 million mark in prizemoney won for our owners.

Before this weekend's racing, total stakes' earnings won by our Singapore stable have climbed to $2,013,058 - this is a wonderful achievement by Mark Walker's in just his third season - and this milestone has been reached before half the season is complete!

Te Akau owners who race their horses in Singapore are over the moon - some recent comments including:

"Thank you, thank you, thank you for sending our horse to Singapore - it is so exciting and we are loving the cheques."

"I want all of my horses to join your Singapore stable - the returns are amazing and racing there is so much fun, we have loved both of our trips there and also watching our boys run on Trackside if we can't make it over."

Te Akau's previous record stakes' earnings in a season was achieved in the 2008/09 season when the stable earned $3,711,249, a New Zealand domestic record for stakes' earnings that still stands.  The second highest earnings in a season for Te Akau was the season prior when our owners collected $2,562,732.

If you take Te Akau's Singapore stakes' earnings of $2,013,058 thus far and add our New Zealand prize money of $857,288 - this totals $2,870,346 - with only one and a half months of the New Zealand season remaining but five and a half months of the Singapore season to come - there is no doubt that Te Akau is in line to record its best EVER season of returns to our owners.

We are determined to eclipse our 2008/09 record - so watch this space.
