12:55 p.m. R4 2 Lord Cosmos (3 g Pierro - Cosmic Powers) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); quickened home for a big win in the Waikato Equine Veterinary Centre 2YO Stakes (Listed, 1200m) on 7 May at Te Rapa, running the fastest last 600m (34.4) on the day. Spelled, he ran home strongly for a close fourth in a trial on 17 July at Cambridge (poly-track), and resumes in the $30,000 3YO 1100 metres. A stylish winner over 1100 metres in December at New Plymouth, he is ideally drawn (4) and rates a top three chance if he is appreciative of the course at his first attempt. Fixed odds: $3.00 & $1.30.

1:32 p.m. R5 3 Homegrown (4 g Turn Me Loose - Dresden Park) - Troy Harris; travelled easily outside the leader and was held together in a good gallop for second at the trials on 17 July at Cambridge (poly-track), and debuts in the $15,000 Maiden 1200 metres. A winner and twice second through the trials' stage, his dam Dresden Park (Thorn Park) recorded three of four wins over 1400 metres and acted well fresh. He has a good association with the rider and rates a top three prospect from barrier three. Fixed odds: $4.80 & $1.90.

3:13 p.m. R8 1 Entriviere (6 m Tavistock - Marcey's Belt) - Niranjan Parmar (a3); won the Sheraco Stakes (Gr. 2, 1200m) at Kembla Grange (N.S.W.) and Sistema Railway (Gr. 1, 1200m) at Ellerslie, last season, and resumes in the $35,000 Open 1100 metres. She trialed on 17 July at Cambridge (poly-track), acts very well in a fresh state, has weight relief to 60kg, and the class to finish in the top three. Fixed odds: $5.00 & $1.55.

3:13 p.m. R8 2 Imperatriz (4 m I Am Invincible - Berimbau) - Opie Bosson; ended her three-year-old season with consecutive Group One wins in the Levin Classic (Gr. 1, 1600m) and NZ Thoroughbred Breeders' Stakes (Gr. 1, 1600m). She highlighted trials with a classy victory on 17 July at Cambridge (poly-track), and appears hardest to beat despite carrying 60kg in the $35,000 Open 1100 metres. Fixed odds: $1.90 & $1.20.

3:13 p.m. R8 5 On the Bubbles (4 g Brazen Beau - More Bubbles) - Joe Kamaruddin (a1); won the Uncle Remus Stakes (Listed, 1400m), then the Mufhasa Stakes (Listed, 1400m) on Derby Day at Ellerslie, and ran a great race for second to Imperatriz (I Am Invincible), above, - a Te Akau first four - in the Levin Classic (Gr. 1, 1600m) on Oaks' Day at Trentham. He led on a nice rein and was held together for second in a trial on 17 July at Cambridge (poly-track), claims to 54kg, and rates a top chance with any luck from his wide draw (10) in the $35,000 Open 1100 metres.
