Te Akau Racing has three horses entered on Monday 6 January at Otaki.

2:12 p.m. R3 3 Purple Prose (3 g Embellish – Lady Masako) – Jonathan Riddell; he got back to last from his outside gate (12) and while remaining back was good through the line when debuting in the Maiden 1200 metres on 20 December at Matamata. Contesting the $18,500 Maiden 1200 3YO metres, his half-sister and stable-mate Elegant Lady has won of four races 1900m – 2200m and is twice stakes' placed. While he is destined for further, he is ideally drawn (2) to show improvement from his debut. Fixed odds: $13.00 & $2.50.

5:08 p.m. R8 1 Star In The Sky (5 m Savabeel – Pikari Star) – Jonathan Riddell; she got back to last over a sprint trip, was seven lengths astern at the 600m, but ran on solidly near the rail in the straight when trialing on 17 December at Pukekohe. Resuming in the $18,500 Entain/NZB Insurance Pearl Series Rating 65 Fillies & Mares 1400 metres (eligible $26,000 bonuses), she has recorded three wins from 1400m – 2200m, has the ability to act in a fresh state, and well drawn (3) - one of two in the field for the team. Fixed odds: $10.00 & $3.10.

5:08 p.m. R8 5 Hayate (6 m Maurice – Vamoose) – Lisa Allpress; she got back on the inner, was five lengths off the leaders at the 600m, and worked home nicely to the inside of runners when trialing on 17 December at Pukekohe. Also resuming in the $18,500 Entain/NZB Insurance Pearl Series Rating 65 Fillies & Mares 1400 metres, her career spans four wins from 1200m – 2000m, she also performs well when fresh, and is capable of solid showing with some luck from her wide draw (10).
