Te Akau New Zealand has one horse entered for the nine-race programme on Saturday August 17 at Te Rapa.
As at 8:42am on Friday Aug. 16 the conditions were: fine and Dead6, rail True.
12:40pm R2 14 Goyescas (4 m Encosta De Lago - Larrocha) - Yuji Hishida (a1); was late clearing traffic before running home solidly for a close eighth on July 20 in the Benchmark 75 1600 metres on Dead5 footing at Ruakaka. She steps over ground for the first time in the Benchmark 75 2100 metres - one of three Asian Young Guns races on the card. Her dam, Larrocha (Danehill), proved her versatility when winning over 1300 and 2500 metres. She is likely to get back in running from a wide barrier and run home strongly for the 20 year old Japanese jockey who has ridden 60 winners.
