Te Akau: Mark Walker on Top

Te Akau Singapore's Mark Walker leads the Trainers' Premiership there.

Te Akau Singapore trainer Mark Walker has made a flying start to the new season in Singapore. With the first month of racing completed, Mark leads the Trainers' Premiership - a terrific beginning to 2013 and a credit to his skill and expertise, ably supported by Gus Clutterbuck and the team and of course Mark's wife Julia who looks after all of the administration and owner communication.

We know how our New Zealand horses that have travelled to Singapore have thrived and our owners are very happy with the results that are coming their way - for example last month Alpha Centauri, a Keeper colt David bought at Karaka 2012 for $60,000, won his maiden race for a stake of $65,000.

Select Gathering, a $40,000 purchase by David from the premier sale, has now raced 11 times for two wins, two 2nds, two 3rds and two 4ths - for stakes of $76,300.
The owners of Flying Fulton have been likewise delighted to receive stakes approaching $1.2 million in just 24 months.

The table below is sourced from the Singapore Turf Club as of today - aditionally Mark has recorded five 4th placings.
