Classy galloper Om stamped his authority all over the last race at Kranji on Sunday evening.

Ridden by champion Singapore jockey Joao Moreira, the half brother to champion Singapore galloper Better Than Ever, Om trounced his Class 4 opposition by almost two lengths.  Again it was a masterful Moreira ride, who when getting back aboard the gelding, was brimming with confidence pre race and glowing the praise post race. The Brazilian rider now sits on 98 wins for the current season.

Om was bred and is raced by Sir Owen Glenn and is a horse who you will hear a lot more from in Singapore where his brother has a huge following and superstar status.  Of course Better Than Ever is now trained by Te Akau New Zealand and was last seen claiming the Group 2 Awapuni Gold Cup in consummate fashion, before heading for a well earned spell.

Trained by Te Akau Singapore's Mark Walker, Om has now raced seven times for two wins (and was desperately unlucky not to win last start after being held up at a crucial stage) and has twice been runner up, with a 3rd and 4th placing also to his credit. His prizemoney is now almost $100,000 from those seven starts.

The win by Om added to Mark Walker's very impressive tally for this season which is almost half way through - he continues to lead the Trainers' Premiership as he has done all season with Om being win number 36.  Last week Te Akau Singapore celebrated hitting the $2 million in stakes' eanrings for the season for our owners - and this latest success of course adds to this very impressive tally.rained by Te Akau Singapore trainer
