Here Come Our Yearlings

She's all go at HQ! We're thrilled to share some behind-the-scenes footage and insights from the training track in Matamata, where our yearlings are taking their first steps on their racing journey.

Join us as we step into the shoes of our seasoned trainer, Mark Walker, and one of our gifted trackwork riders, Troy Harris. Let's peek into their world as they share thoughts about our exciting new youngsters. Today we have two promising yearlings to showcase, both of which have limited shares still available.

First up is Lot 351, a bay colt by Alabama Express out of Zoustar mare Miss Madonna, purchased by Te Akau's David Ellis CNZM at Karaka. This striking colt hails from a distinguished lineage - his sire Alabama Express won the prestigious Group 1 CF Orr Stakes in Melbourne. Alabama Express is out of a half sister to the talented Giga Kick, the winner of the A$1.5 million Group 1 All Aged Stakes in Sydney, defeating multiple Group 1 winner Zaaki.

This colt's dam sire Zoustar was a prolific winner, claiming two Group 1's and a Group 2, and his progeny are world class.

David Ellis CNZM, speaks highly of the colt: “He's a strong-bodied and very mature colt from the family of our Champion 2YO Sword of State. He handled the preparation really well and is by a sire that we have huge regard for. He could well be a contender for our 8th Karaka Million title.”

A 10% share in this precocious colt is $17,500 +GST

A 5% share is $8,750 +GST

A 2.5% share is $4,375 +GST

Next, we have Lot 53, a bay colt by Exceedance out of the More Than Ready mare Legal Eagle. This colt showcases a strong, well-built physique and is by a young sire son of Champion Sire Exceed and Excel. His dam side will make you sit up and take notice - More Than Ready is an exceptional dam sire, with over 4000 winners, including 250 stakes' winners and 50 Group 1 winners to his credit.

Ellis is equally excited about this yearling: "He's a really physically imposing colt by an exciting first season sire, who in turn is by breed-shaping sire Exceed and Excel. He has great presence, speed in his pedigree and a double up of Danehill in his bloodlines. Watch him get up and run."

Our aim is to have this colt back in Australia, contesting the A$3 million Magic Millions 2YO and 3YO events which he is nominated for. You can be part of a lineage that is legendary, with the mighty Danehill and Sir Tristram being his second and third dam sires.

A 10% share is approx. NZ$11,300 +GST

A 5% share is approx. NZ$5,650 +GST

A 2.5% share is approx. NZ$2,825 +GST
