ZOURION

Exciting Zoustar filly Zourion was purchased by David Ellis CNZM from the Karaka Book 1 Sale for $475,000 and is raced by Cambridge Stud's Brendan Lindsay MNZM and Jo Lindsay.

Rated as a talent from very early, she showed this promise when winning on debut at Taupo on 7 February 2023. In the hands of Warren Kennedy, she had to overcome some early jostling and showed maturity to lift in the hands of the South African jockey to claim her victory.

Zourion certainly delivered on her early reputation at just her second start when claiming the $120,000 Group 2 J Swap Contractors Matamata Breeders' Stakes - becoming Te Akau's 8th winner of this locally treasured feature.  This time with the Akau stable rider Opie Bosson in the saddle, depositor being slow away and not showing a huge liking for the heavy track conditions, she displayed her class to score an easy win.

Zourion has now raced twice for two wins, earning $76,840.
