LORD COSMOS

Lord Cosmos showed huge heart when, on a one-week backup, he prevailed stylishly in the $60,000 Listed Waikato Equine Veterinary Centre 2YO SW Stakes SW over 1200m on 7 May 2022 at Te Rapa.

The Pierro gelding was ridden by Sam Weatherley who also piloted the stable's Karaka 3YO Million winner Pin Me Up earlier in the year.

Lord Cosmos began his career when runner up on debut in November 2021.  A winning effort in December 2021 saw him qualify for the 2022 Karaka 2YO Million, however a wide gate saw him forced to race wide the entire race and it was not to be his night.

He bounced back after a good spell on 30 April 2022 to finish runner up before hogging the limelight a week later to claim his first stakes' victory.

Lord Cosmos is trained by Mark Walker and was purchased by David Ellis CNZM from the Karaka Book 1 Sale for $190,000.  He has races five times for two wins and two runner up placings, earning $59,820 to date for his owners, the Te Akau Galactic Racing Partnership (Mgr: Karyn Fenton-Ellis MNZM).
