King's Ransom
Purchased by David Ellis from Karaka 2008 for $75,000, this son of King's Chapel (also purchased by Ellis and trained by Mark Walker) became his sire's first winner and first stakes' winner when winning the $100,000 Group 2 Wakefield Challenge Stakes at Trentham in January 2009. In February 2009 he claimed the $65,000 Listed Fairview Ford Slipper as Darci Brahma and Minstrel Court his stablemates did before him. He continued his black type form in October 2009 when as a 3YO he claimed the $45,000 Listed Canterbury Stakes at Riccarton. Raced by Tom & Sue Roper, Jim and Bill Gartshore, Lance and Lee Perry, Dave and Nicky Hurst and the KT3 Syndicate managed by Jan Kerr, the gelding has earned $135,025 with three wins and four placings from nine starts. He relocated to Singapore in September 2010.
