FESTIVITY

Festivity was purchased by David Ellis CNZM for $410,000 from the Karaka Book 1 sale as part of Te Akau's 2018 fillies' breeding syndicate.

A classy daughter of I Am Invincible out of Mabsam, she showed early promise when winning two of her three trials before winning on debut at a three year old in December 2019 at Taupo.

She proved that this was no fluke when stepping out for the second time at Trentham's Premier meeting in January 2020, cruising home for back to back wins.  It was a definitive two length win over 1200m in the hands of Michael McNab.

Needing time, Festivity was next seen at the Hawkes Bay carnival as a four year old on 3 October 2020.  It was another eye catching win, this time when ridden by Danielle Johnson.  With three wins from three starts, she stepped out at Te Rapa later in October 2020 and was only beaten by a nose in a R74 1200m after being tightened for racing room in the straight.

However she was back to doing what she did best at her fifth start - winning over 1200m at Tauranga in November 2020 with Vinnie Colgan aboard.  That took her racing record to four wins from five starts.

Win No. 5 came at start seven when Festivity appropriately won the "Te Akau Shark - Farewell to a Legend" 1200 at Te Rapa's Group 1 Legends' Day in February 2021 with Opie Bosson in the saddle.

Festivity's next four starts each came with a bad luck story - but that changed on Boxing Day 2021 when she showed huge determination to claim her first black type success - the $80,000 Listed Hallmark Stud Handicap Open Handicap 1200m, again with Bosson engaged.  One of four Te Akau winners on the day, three at stakes' level, she defeated last year's winner Vamos Bebe, for a stable quinella.

On Karaka Million night on 22 January 2022, Festivity was again to the fore in the $110,000 Group 3 Concorde Handicap, an open handicap event over 1200m. In the hands of Kozzi Asano, she travelled four wide at the turn and swept up to win, being only narrowly defeated into second place.

Festivity was raced by the Te Akau 2018 Fabulous Fillies' Breeding Syndicate (Mgr: Karyn Fenton-Ellis MNZM) and raced 13 times for six wins and three placings, with stakes' earnings of $156,950.  She was retired in February 2022.
