After debuting in September 2022, the 3YO filly won her second start in November 2022, a Maiden 3YO 1300m, with a powerful and eye catching finish, piloted by Te Akau apprentice Joe Kamaruddin.

It was a dream for her owners that, just under three months later, she would become a valuable stakes' winning filly.

In February 2023, Family Ties delivered a big finish on the inside to claim victory in the $65,000 Listed Grangewilliam Stud Oaks' Prelude 3YOF SW 1800m at New Plymouth in the hands of Te Akau stable rider Opie Bosson.

Purchased by David Ellis CNZM for $60,000 from the NZB Ready to Run Sale, Family Ties is raced by family and friends - DJ Bloodstock Partnership, Duck Duck Goose Syndicate, GN & CM Bloodstock Ltd & G M Southworth. She has raced six times, with two wins and three other placings, and prize money to date of $48,880.
