Dynastic is an Almanzor colt who was held in high regard from the time he was first inspected as a yearling.
Purchased by David Ellis CNZM at the 2021 NZB Book 1 Sale for $360,000, his second on debut on Boxing Day 2021 to stablemate Grace ‘N’ Grey had a huge amount to recommend it. Despite having the services of New Zealand’s top jockey, Te Akau stable rider Opie Bosson, he was caught three wide and ran an eye catching race.
Bosson was impressed and elected to ride Dynastic in the $1,000,000 RL Karaka 2YO Million SW 1200m in January 2022. Being Bosson’s elect saw the colt romp into favouritism – and he duly delivered a decisive 2.3 length win with panache – in the fastest time ever in a Karaka 2YO Million.
In winning the Karaka 2YO Million, Dynastic became Te Akau’s sixth consecutive winner of the iconic event – all winning horses having been bought by David Ellis CNZM. He also become his sire Almanzor’s first southern hemisphere winner (Almanzor stands at Cambridge Stud in southern time) and importantly, the first stakes’ winner for his sire internationally.
In his first start as a three year old, Dynastic blitzed his opposition winning the $80,000 Listed El Roca-Sir Colin Meads Trophy 3YO SW 1200m at Hastings in September 2022. It was a superb performance with stable rider Opie Bosson in the saddle, the colt having no luck from the wide draw, forced to race throughout three wide.
Dynastic is raced by the Te Akau 2021 Stallion Syndicate (Mgr: Karyn Fenton-Ellis MNZM) and has raced five times for two wins and two runner up placings – with stakes earnings of $658,125.
